Baleia
O termo "Baleia" originou-se do apelido criado para nomear ricos investidores/traders de bitcoin que influenciavam o mercado a partir de seus movimentos. O termo tornou-se comum no universo das moedas digitais, designando qualquer investidor/trader como baleia, indiferente da moeda.
Já no Steemit, Baleia é o usuário com um imenso valor de Steem Power, são "criaturas" influentes na plataforma, dado que seus votos tem imenso valor e também recebem grandes recompensas, principalmente quando comparados a usuários iniciantes. Normalmente as "Baleias" terão uma reputação na média de 70. Estes investidores em geral estão a mais tempo na plataforma que a maioria dos outros usuários.
The Steem Witness @abit em um post no Steemit piblicado em Março de 2017 definiu que Baleiasão aqueles que tem mais de 800 VEST no total ou 384K de Steem Power. No mesmo post explica os cálculos feitos para chegar a essa conclusão, além de reforçar a famosa frase: Com grande poder vêm grandes responsabilidades. [2]
No Ecossistema Steem existem sites como o Steem Whales onde é possível ver o ranking das baleias.
