記事をサブミットする前に、適切に書式設定することが強く推奨される。Steemitでコンテンツを作成するには、"Editor"または"Markdown"モードを使用する。以下はSteemitの"Submit a Story"ページのマークダウンウインドウで利用できる最も一般的な書式コマンドの要約である。
これらのヒントはGitHubのマークダウン解説書[1] とともに@razvanelulのチュートリアルセッション[2]から得たものである。また、マークダウンエディタを使用しない場合はHTMLタグを使用できる。

見出し（ヘッダ）

見出しを作るには#または<h1>タグを用いる。
更に#####を用いると字が小さくなる。
#と拡大したい単語の間に必ずスペースを入れること。

  • 最大は # 単語、または<h1> 単語 </h1>
  • 最小は ###### 単語、または<h6> 単語 </h6>

太字

単語を太字で表示するには、単語の前後に**を使う。
**と単語の間にスペースを入れないこと。
<b>タグを用いることもできる。

  • word : <br> word </br>

イタリック体

単語をItalicで表示するには、*を1つずつ単語の両側に用いる。

  • と単語の間にスペースを入れないこと。

<em>タグを用いることもできる。

  • word : *word*
  • word : <em>word</em>

ハイパーリンク

テキストにwebサイトへのリンクをつけるには[ ]と( )を用いる。
テキストを[ ]内に書き、リンクを( )内に書く。

マークダウンエディタを使用しない場合は、この方法でもリンクを作成できる。

  • <a href="https://website.com">テキスト</a>

両端揃え

テキストを両端揃えにするには：

  • <div class="text-justify"> テキスト </div>

画像

画像を含めるときは、画像のアドレスを投稿に貼り付ける。
記事に画像をつける方法を参照。

動画

記事に動画を含める基本的な方法はリンクを貼り付けることである。他には（iframe）タグを用いてHTMLに埋め込むこともできる。Youtube、Vimeo、SoundCloud（埋め込みのみ）だけがサポートされている。

センタリング

画像のセンタリングには<center>と</center>を用いる。</center>

改行

新しい段落ではなく新しい行を作りたい場合は、行の最後に少なくとも2つのスペースを入れる必要がある。

キャプション
