フォロワーはSteem上であなたをフォローし、Steemitのフィードであなたの投稿を見る人である。プロファイルページにあるリンクをクリックすると、フォロワーとあなたがフォローしている人のリストが見られる。
より多くのフォロワーを持っていれば、投稿を見てもらえる機会も増える。Steemianの@shayneはネットワーク構築を始めてフォロワーを獲得するためには、Hot Postsタブや#introduceyourselfタグを参照し、その投稿にコメントすることを勧めている。しかし、彼はリンクドロッピング（あちこちにリンクを貼り付けていく行為）やフォロー乞食に陥らないようにしなければならないと警告している。
Steemitにおける最初のペイアウトから1年後の2017年7月4日、フォロワー数トップ5のSteemianは、Steem Whalesによると、Joan Altres - @joanaltres (9,825)、 @always1success (9,792)、 @dollarvigilante (9,254)、 Carlo Belgado - @carlobelgado (6,246)、@sweetsssj (6,093)であった。[1]
