NSFW = Not Safe For Work（職場危険）
通常の職場には不適切なインターネットコンテンツを表す略語。[1]
これはヌード、冒涜、性的コンテンツを含む投稿をタグ付けやカテゴライズするために使用される。これにより、閲覧者はコンテンツをクリックする前に見るかどうかを決めることができる。

2016年12月までSteemitサイトには、家族/子供向けの閲覧者とアダルトコンテンツの製作者の両方を悩ませる問題があった。Steemianの一部は、問題解決の1ヶ月前にポルノスターAlexa Nova（@alexanova）の#introduceyourself投稿がトレンドページに載ったとき、自主規制と回避策を提案した。[2]

オープンで検閲のないソーシャルメディアプラットフォームとして発表されたSteemitとSteemブロックチェーンは収益化の代替案を探しているアダルト、ポルノ業界の労働者と企業家を引きつけた。
始めにメキシコのプレイメイトであるBrenda（@brendazambrano）が成功を収めた。[3]@steempornアカウントでは同じことは起こらなかった。他に、写真家でありエロティックアーティストのNico（@nspart）はSteemitにそれほど明示的でないNSFWコンテンツを投稿し続けている。[4]
